Gardening made easy: 4 tips to get ready for spring

If you’re a die-hard gardener, you’re probably already thinking about how to get started making your dreams a reality – and if you’re a novice, you’re probably thinking, “It can’t be time to start yet!” Whatever your level, a little advanced planning goes a long way. Start by plotting out your garden, but once you’ve done that step, here are a few more easy tips to get your garden growing strong.

  • Mark your favorite seed catalogs.

One of the most fun parts about gardening is looking through the seed catalogs and planning what you want to grow. Use Post-it® Arrow Flags to mark the seeds and plants you’re most inspired by.

  • Label your seed starts.

Get a head start on gardening by starting seeds on your own indoors. When you’re experimenting with lots of different types of plants, though, it’s hard to keep track of which is which. Label each container with a Post-it® Tab, and you’ll be sure to put the right seedling in the right spot.

  • Make your own garden dry erase board.

Use Post-it® Dry Erase Surface to create a dry erase space on a free wall in your garage or garden shed. Keep notes, schedules and your garden plan close at hand when you’re gathering tools and supplies.

  • Label containers with the plants that go inside.

If you’re planning a container garden, use Post-it® Super Sticky Notes to help plan which plants should go in which containers. Take stock of the containers you’ve got available, and label each one with what you want to put inside. That way, when it comes to potting, you’ll remember exactly what you had in mind.
