Haiku Daisies

Create a "cherry blossom tree branch" on a classroom wall using brown paper, scissors and wall-safe tape.

Give each student a daisy-shaped Post-it® Note on which to compose a springtime-themed haiku. The haiku is a Japanese poetry form that consists of 17 total syllables divided into five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the last line.

As students complete their poems, invite them to add their "blossom" to the classroom branch.

When the branch is covered in blossoms, host a reading to share the beautiful poetry the class created.
