How to organise ideas for your wedding

One of the most fun parts about planning your wedding is looking through wedding magazines, books and catalogues for ideas about what will make your day best reflect who you are as a couple.

  • Keeping track of all those ideas, however, can start to get a little crazy after a while, so it can be really helpful to create a way to organise everything you’ve found. If you’re looking online, Pinterest is a great resource, of course. But, if you’re using magazines and books, you’ll need a physical organisation system as well. Not to brag, but Post-it® Arrow Flags and Post-it® Note-Taking Tabs work like a charm.

  • The easiest thing to do is to designate colours for certain categories of inspiration. In a wedding magazine, you’ve got everything in one spot, so, when you’re looking back through, you’ll want to be able to tell, at a glance, which page has the beautiful cake and which page has the gorgeous dress. The solution is simple: just pick a colour of flag or tab for every category of inspiration you’re looking at – yellow for cakes, blue for dresses, green for flowers and red for hair and makeup, for example.

  • If you’re using Post-it® Note-Taking Tabs, you can also jot down notes to remind you what you originally loved about the page – you’d be surprised how easy it is to forget your favorites after you’ve looked through a dozen magazines.

  • When everything’s marked, you’ll have a good idea of how many options you’ve got – and how many decisions you have left to make.

Quick tip: Don’t just stop at the wedding – this is also a great way to organise wedding registry gift ideas and honeymoon destinations!
